Westport chimneys don’t clean themselves, here’s what most homeowners get wrong
Most Westport homeowners wait until their chimney smells like a campfire gone wrong or their flue starts leaking water onto the hearth before calling a sweep. That’s a myth, and a costly one. The real danger isn’t the soot you see; it’s the creosote buildup you don’t, which can ignite even in a well-maintained Fairfield County fireplace. Our Westport crews arrive with state-certified gear to remove every gram of it, not just the visible stuff. Skip the DIY brushes from the hardware store; they miss the critical layers that form in the first 6 inches of your flue. Book a Westport chimney sweep before the next cold snap hits, our slots fill fast when the first Nor’easter drops temps below 40°F.
Why your Westport chimney inspection isn’t optional, even if you rarely use it
Your Westport chimney faces harsher conditions than most in Connecticut: salt air from Long Island Sound, humidity from the Saugatuck River, and freeze-thaw cycles that crack masonry faster than inland towns. A one-time sweep isn’t enough, you need a full inspection that checks for water damage, cracked flue tiles, and hidden creosote pockets. Our Fairfield team uses video cameras to spot issues before they become $2,000+ repairs. Don’t wait for your neighbor’s chimney fire to remind you: Schedule your Westport chimney inspection today and get a free estimate on any needed repairs. We’re insured, licensed by the State of Connecticut, and available 7 days a week, no excuses.
